Jeffrey Ball is an I.A.T.S.E. Local 600 camera and Steadicam operator based in Los Angeles, CA.

He recently wrapped a feature as A / Steadi operator, “Why The Nativity” to be distributed on the History Channel and Disney+.

He was nominated for the 2021 Oscars for his work as Director of Photography on “Hunger Ward”, a film highlighting the ongoing civil war and widespread famine in Yemen. He has also received Emmy nominations for his work on the Discovery Channel show “Deadliest Catch”. 

He has operated in narrative shows currently streaming on Netflix, such as Purple Hearts and My Dead Ex and Hulu as well as feature films.  Formally trained at Brooks Institute of Photography, Jeff's style and drive has been carved through a diverse portfolio ranging from narrative and commercial to documentary work throughout South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Jeff is an ardent alpinist and rock-climber, having scaled the face of El Capitan in Yosemite and summited Toquiaraju (19,797ft) in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru.  A returned Peace Corps volunteer (2011-2013, Ukraine), Jeff is tri-lingual, also speaking Russian and Spanish.
